Né dans une famille aristocratique Alpha, “Karlyle” n’a pas le gène dominant de la famille. Les Omégas sont donc les seules personnes avec qui il peut imaginer une relation sexuelle. Pris d’un trouble orgasmique, il décide de se faire consulter. Le diagnostic du médecin est affirmatif : pour pouvoir guérir ce trouble, Karlyle doit avoir des relations sexuelles avec des personnes autres que des Omégas. Refusant de coucher avec le même Alpha que lui, Karlyle rencontre “Ash” dans un diner arrangé... Karlyle se souvient d’avoir déjà rencontré Ash à New York, pendant la fête du Nouvel An, mais Ash a l’air d’avoir déjà oublié ce moment.
